While US selectors are set to officially name the team for the Milan-Cortina Olympics, set to be held in February 2026, on Sunday (January 11, 2026), America's women Glenn, Liu, and Levito promised a formidable challenge at the Games.
Following bravura free-skate performances in St. Louis, Glenn, Liu, and third-placed Isabeau Levito look set to take Italy by storm in a bid for the United States' first women's individual figure skating medal since Sasha Cohen won silver in 2006.
After securing gold on Friday night, Glenn entered the elite list of legendary women who have clinched three straight US Championships golds. Liu, the 20-year-old who walked away from the sport for two years, won the World Championship in 2025. The third name in the list is Levito, who bagged the bronze medal.
Levito was second in the free skate with an ethereal performance that put her third overall on 224.45 points. She was up first among the American “big three,” performing with her trademark balletic style in a sparkly blue dress to music from the 1988 Italian coming-of-age film “Cinema Paradiso.”
Isabeau Levito: Early life and career
Backed by an impressive run at the various age group levels nationally, including national medals at the juvenile, intermediate, and junior levels, Levito made her debut internationally in 2021/22 as the US national junior champion.
In the same year, she won two Junior Grand Prix medals, including her first title. She withdrew from the Junior Grand Prix Final due to injury. She also competed at her first U.S. nationals as a senior, winning bronze but missing out on selection for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics due to age restrictions, as she was too young.
Levito has built an impressive résumé across multiple levels of figure skating, marked by success on both the national and international stages. She is a world silver medalist (2024) and previously captured the title of world junior champion (2022). Her consistency at elite international competitions is further highlighted by a silver medal at the Grand Prix Final (2022) and a total of six medals in the Grand Prix Series.
