Karl-Anthony Towns led New York with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Brunson and Mikal Bridges each added 20 points. The Knicks have now won 13 consecutive playoff games, marking one of the longest postseason winning streaks in NBA history. The achievement also places New York in elite company. The Knicks became just the third team ever to win the first two games of an NBA Finals on the road. The only previous teams to accomplish the feat were the 1993 Chicago Bulls led by Michael Jordan and the 1995 Houston Rockets led by Hakeem Olajuwon. Both teams went on to capture the championship.
San Antonio mounted an impressive comeback after trailing by 12 points midway through the fourth quarter. Wembanyama, who scored 29 points after a slow start, gave the Spurs a 104-102 lead with less than a minute remaining. De'Aaron Fox contributed 20 points in the loss.
However, Brunson responded with a crucial basket to tie the game before New York regained possession following Wembanyama's turnover. The Knicks then executed in the closing moments to secure the win.
