Usain Bolt gives major update on 2028 Los Angeles Olympics: 'If they call, I’ll be ready’
Legendary sprinter Usain Bolt has expressed readiness for a potential return to the Olympic stage. He is considering competing for Jamaica in cricket at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Cricket will be making its Olympic comeback after 128 years. Bolt,...

"I am happily retired from professional sport. I haven’t played cricket in a long time, but if they call, I will be ready," Bolt told Esquire in an interview on the eve of the Doha Marathon.
Bolt’s love for cricket is well-known. In 2014, he teamed up with star Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh for an exhibition match during an exhibition Face-Off Challenge, which captured widespread attention. In a memorable moment, Bolt smashed the final ball for a six. This event highlighted yet another instance of his passion for the game, showing that cricket has long been one of his favorite sports outside of track and field.
"A cricketer for sure. Yeah, I think if my cricket coach hadn’t said, ‘You know what, go try running,’ I probably would have stuck with cricket, because my dad was a massive cricket fan and that’s all I knew growing up. Cricket, a little bit of football, but all I knew was cricket,” he had told news agency PTI last October.
The legendary Jamaican sprinter holds multiple world records in the 100m and 200m sprints and won eight Olympic gold medals. Known for his speed, charisma, and signature 'Lightning Bolt' pose, Bolt has become a global sports icon.
