The June 14 showcase is shaping up to be a milestone moment for the UFC, driven both by its unprecedented White House setting and the sheer scale of global attention it is generating.

The UFC is expected to spend close to $60 million (£44.3 million) on a historic event staged at the White House, according to TKO Group Holdings executive Mark Shapiro. The unprecedented show is scheduled for June 14 and will form part of celebrations marking 250 years of American independence. The plans were first announced by US President Donald Trump last year and have since been confirmed by UFC president Dana White and parent company TKO Group Holdings.

According to a BBC report, Shapiro said the UFC does not expect to make a profit from the event, describing it instead as a long-term strategic investment focused on global exposure and 'earned media'. He added that TKO is working closely with corporate partners and expects their involvement to cover roughly $30 million of the overall cost, helping reduce the financial burden while maximizing the event’s impact.

"I want to be clear about something: we will not profit from the White House event independently. We will not be making money on America's 250th anniversary," said Shapiro as quoted by BBC.

"Bottom line is, it's still a moving target. Even if that $60m goes up, or rides up on us, we believe we can offset half of the spend. Today, we see it as $60m offsetting $30m."

The UFC has yet to reveal full details for its upcoming White House showcase, but president White has outlined the expected scale of the event. Around 5,000 spectators are projected to attend the live fights on the White House South Lawn, creating one of the most unusual settings in combat sports history.

White added that the spectacle will extend beyond the immediate venue, with approximately 80,000 additional fans set to watch from the nearby Ellipse in Washington, DC, reported BBC.

President Trump, a close associate of White, has hyped the card by claiming the bouts will be the biggest the UFC has ever staged. However, no official fight lineup has been announced so far.

Speaking on the sidelines of Zuffa Boxing, White recently said he expects the upcoming event to become the most-watched fight card in UFC history. The event will be simulcast on CBS and Paramount+. White added that the bout lineup has already been finalized, although several logistical issues still need to be worked out before fight night.

The June 14 showcase is shaping up to be a milestone moment for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, driven both by its unprecedented White House setting and the sheer scale of global attention it is generating. White has repeatedly said the event will be unlike anything the UFC has staged before, positioning it as a truly one-of-a-kind spectacle in the promotion’s history.
