Before leaving, Anunoby delivered another impressive playoff performance with 24 points, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals while shooting 9-of-17 from the field. The 28-year-old has been enjoying the best postseason stretch of his career, averaging 21 points and nearly eight rebounds per game entering Wednesday’s matchup.
Jalen Brunson once again led New York in crunch time, scoring eight of his 26 points in the fourth quarter. Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points and 10 rebounds despite dealing with foul trouble and playing only 27 minutes. Mikal Bridges chipped in 18 points as the Knicks secured their fifth straight victory overall.
The game remained tightly contested throughout, featuring 14 ties and 25 lead changes. Philadelphia held slim leads after each of the first three quarters and briefly went ahead 99-96 midway through the fourth after a three-pointer from Kelly Oubre Jr.. But the Sixers struggled offensively down the stretch, scoring only 12 points in the final period while shooting just 21.1 percent.
Tyrese Maxey scored 26 points for Philadelphia, while Oubre and Paul George each added 19. Rookie VJ Edgecombe contributed 17 points. The Sixers were without star center Joel Embiid, who missed the contest because of ankle and hip injuries.
