Paige Bueckers addressed growing curiosity about her relationship with Azzi Fudd during Monday night's Dallas Wings press conference that quickly went viral. Calm and composed, Bueckers emphasized their personal relationship is 'nobody's business but our own', shutting down unwanted speculations with a clear, grounded response. Bueckers, 24, opened her press conference at the WNBA media day by directly addressing the ongoing speculation surrounding her relationship with Fudd, the team’s No. 1 overall draft pick. The WNBA star made it clear she would not address any speculation about a romantic relationship with her current teammate.

"First of all, missed you guys, genuinely hope you had a great offseason," Bueckers told reporters before saying, "There is something I wanted to address and I only plan on addressing it once."

"Quite frankly," Bueckers continued, "I believe me and Azzi's personal relationship is nobody's business but our own, and what we choose to share is completely up to us."



Bueckers, selected first overall a year ahead of Fudd, acknowledged that reporters are simply doing their jobs by asking such questions, but made it clear she prefers to keep future discussions focused strictly on basketball.

"Me and Azzi have always been the most professional; we’ve always conducted ourselves as such and we’ve never let anything that happens off the court carry onto the court," Bueckers said, adding, "And that's what we'll continue to do."

Before wrapping up her remarks, Bueckers emphasized that her off-court relationship with Fudd had 'nothing to do with' the Wings selecting her with the No. 1 overall pick.

"Azzi Fudd was the number one draft pick because she earned it, and it had nothing to do with me and everything to do with she is," Bueckers said.

"She's her own great, individual person and she should be celebrated as such," Bueckers concluded.

Bueckers and Fudd were first teammates at UConn, where they played key roles in capturing the 2025 NCAA Championship. Bueckers seemingly confirmed her relationship during the WNBA All-Star Weekend in July 2025, when she referred to her partner as her 'girlfriend'.
