LeBron James reacted after the Amazon Prime Video stream dropped during overtime of the Miami Heat vs Charlotte Hornets play-in game, leaving fans without live coverage at a crucial moment on Wednesday night. The NBA superstar took to social media to express frustration over the technical outage, which briefly interrupted the broadcast in the final minute of overtime. Viewers missed key possessions before the feed was restored. The incident sparked widespread discussion among fans about streaming reliability for live sports. While Amazon later cited a hardware failure in its production setup, the disruption overshadowed an intense finish to the closely contested matchup game.

"Tell me the game didn't just cut off?!!? Am I trippin?? WTH," Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James posted on X

The broadcast abruptly went offline for nearly two minutes during overtime, leaving fans unable to watch a crucial Hornets possession. Both audio and video suddenly cut out just after a timeout, with 48.1 seconds remaining on the clock. Moments later, a 'technical difficulties' message appeared on screens. By the time the feed returned, LaMelo Ball had already scored, extending Charlotte’s lead to 125-120. In total, viewers missed 22.1 seconds of live action during a decisive stretch of overtime.

The Hornets ultimately secured a nail-biting 127–126 win, fueled by a brilliant showing from Ball, who recorded 30 points and 10 assists. Miles Bridges added 28 points, knocking down five three-pointers, while Brandon Miller contributed 23 points to cap off a strong all-around team performance.

Amazon Prime Video holds exclusive rights to all six games in this year’s play-in tournament. The platform began broadcasting NBA games this season as part of the league’s new 11-year, $76 billion media rights agreement.

A spokesperson for Amazon Prime Video later confirmed that the disruption was due to 'a hardware failure in our production truck'.

"Our teams restored the feed as quickly as possible to ensure fans could watch the conclusion of the game. We are conducting a thorough internal review to determine the cause of the outage," the spokesperson said as quoted by AP.
