Eagles coach Nick Sirianni caught on camera appearing to direct an NSFW insult at Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson after a hard hit on Jalen Hurts

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni went viral on Monday night, September 28, but not for the reason he or fans want him to be remembered. During the Eagles’ game against the Chicago Bears, Sirianni appeared to direct an NSFW insult toward Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson.

The moment came after Jackson delivered a nasty hard hit on Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts near the sideline. The footage shows Sirianni visibly furious. Some viewers and lip-readers interpreted his words as: “You’re a p***y.”

Several social media users criticized Sirianni in the comment section for his reaction while other groups came out in his support.


The incident appeared to happen in the second quarter. Hurts was running with the football when Jackson made contact near the sideline. Hurts got up and initially appeared ready to continue. He was then sent for a concussion evaluation.

That forced backup quarterback Andy Dalton into the game temporarily. Hurts was eventually cleared to return. He later came back onto the field and scored a rushing touchdown before halftime.

The Eagles were deep in Chicago territory. Dalton threw a pass toward the end zone. Bears rookie safety Dillon Thieneman intercepted it. The turnover stopped a promising Philadelphia scoring opportunity and preserved Chicago’s lead at the time. That made the sequence even more significant.

Was Jackson penalized?

The play drew an official penalty. Jackson was flagged for unnecessary roughness, but the penalty was offset by a holding penalty against Eagles tackle Lane Johnson.

The penalty does not establish that Jackson intended to injure Hurts.

Who is Nick Sirriani?

Sirriani is the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles since 2021.

Previously he was an assistant coach for the Kansas city chiefs from 2009 to 2012 and also worked as a Diego/Los Angeles Chargers from 2013 to 2017. He also served as offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts.

His coaching led Philadelphia to multiple postseason appearances and also led to a victory in Super Bowl LIX in 2025.
