Can White House host 85000 fans? UFC announces free tickets for historic 'Freedom Fights 250' fight card

The UFC is planning a massive public turnout for its historic White House fight card on June 14, with CEO Dana White saying 85,000 free tickets will be released for fans. Rather than seating that crowd cageside, the promotion wants spectators to gather at the Ellipse in Washington, where they will be able to watch the action as part of a large outdoor fan experience. The bouts are set to unfold on the South Lawn of the White House, making it one of the most unusual events in UFC history. Branded Freedom Fights 250, the show is tied to celebrations marking 250 years of US independence and is being promoted as a landmark spectacle rather than a standard arena card.

"The way that the White House is laid out, you've got the White House, you've got the South Lawn, and then there's a road and then the Ellipse as a park that's right there," White told UFC's YouTube Channel.



"We're going to be ticketing 85,000 people in the Ellipse. And the tickets are free, and we'll announce how we're going to be giving them away soon. But you should plan on going to Washington, DC, for this event.

"There's going to be all kinds of activations in the Ellipse. There's going to be music, bands are going to be playing, and you can actually sit in the park and watch the fight on the screens, but you'll actually see the whole setup. It's right there. It will be a very unique, cool experience for fight fans."

White first unveiled plans for Freedom Fights 250 in August after a White House meeting with President Donald Trump. The event is part of the broader nationwide celebration marking 250 years of American independence, and its June 14 date also coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday.

The card is shaping up as one of the UFC’s most ambitious yet. In the co-main attraction, Alex Pereira will face Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight championship. A victory for Pereira would be historic, making him the UFC’s first-ever champion across three different weight divisions.

Another major title clash is also set for the night, with undisputed lightweight champion Ilia Topuria meeting interim titleholder Justin Gaethje in a high-stakes unification bout. That matchup adds even more star power to an event already being promoted as a centerpiece of the country’s anniversary festivities.
