A Brigham Young University (BYU) football player has been arrested in Utah in connection with a serious sexual assault allegation that dates back to early 2025. The case has drawn attention because it involves a Division I athlete and a first-degree felony investigation. Authorities have arrested Parker Trent Kingston, 21, a wide receiver for BYU, for investigation of rape. He is currently being held in jail without bail while the case moves through the legal system.

The investigation began after a 20-year-old woman sought medical treatment and reported the alleged assault. Police in St. George opened a case and gathered evidence over the following months before submitting their findings to prosecutors.

According to investigators, the alleged assault took place on February 23, 2025, in St. George, Utah. After the report was made at a hospital, the St. George Police Department initiated a formal investigation. Authorities collected digital and forensic evidence, conducted interviews with the individuals involved, and spoke with witnesses as part of the process.

Once the investigation was completed, the case was forwarded to the Washington County Attorney’s Office, which reviewed the evidence.

Kingston has been arrested for investigation of first-degree felony rape, one of the most serious charges under Utah criminal law. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in Utah’s 5th Judicial District Court for the initial stages of the legal process.

At this stage, the case remains in its early phases. An arrest does not mean a conviction, and the outcome will depend on court proceedings, including potential formal charges, hearings, and any trial or plea negotiations that may follow.

BYU Athletics confirmed it is aware of the situation and stated that the university takes such allegations seriously. The school said it will cooperate with law enforcement but declined to provide additional details due to federal privacy laws and the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Kingston was reportedly in Provo as recently as Saturday, attending BYU’s men’s basketball game against Houston, where he was seen sitting courtside with a woman. During a timeout, the wide receiver appeared to gesture toward a ring on her left hand, signaling that the two were engaged, according to KSL.com.

In the days that followed, the couple shared engagement photos on Instagram, though the post had been removed.
