Cornelison delivered a powerful rendition of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' before a packed, sold-out crowd at Soldier Field. NFL fans and players alike joined in, singing along with Cornelison and creating a unified, electric atmosphere ahead of the game. It wasn’t the first time Cornelison made a strong impression on NFL fans this season. Back in September, he earned a loud round of applause after performing the national anthem before the Bears faced the Minnesota Vikings, reported Fox News. That game also marked the first 'Monday Night Football' matchup of the season.
According to Fox News, the 61-year-old, who is a familiar presence at major Chicago sporting events, served as the Chicago Bears’ national anthem singer since 2010. Cornelison has been a regular fixture at NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks games since 2008 and has also performed 'Back Home Again in Indiana' ahead of the Indianapolis 500 each year since 2017.
Cornelison’s appeal goes well beyond the sports world. According to Fox News, he was part of the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists in Chicago and has performed at some of the world’s most renowned opera houses.
