A historic performance from Bam Adebayo lit up the NBA on Tuesday night, March 10 as the Miami Heat star delivered a stunning scoring display during the Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards matchup. The game quickly became one of the most talked-about NBA games of the season, not only because of Adebayo’s remarkable numbers but also because of the reaction from his partner, A'ja Wilson.

Wilson, the reigning WNBA MVP and star for the Las Vegas Aces, watched from courtside as Adebayo produced one of the greatest scoring performances in league history. Her reactions throughout the Heat vs Wizards contest quickly caught attention across social media as she enthusiastically cheered on the Miami big man during his record night.

As Adebayo continued his scoring spree, Wilson’s excitement grew. After the Heat star erupted for 31 points in the first quarter, she was seen clapping along with the Miami crowd before shouting "OH YEAH" in celebration.

Adebayo’s performance rewrote the Miami Heat record books. He first surpassed LeBron James for the most points ever scored in a single game in Heat history, previously set at 61. The Miami centre then kept piling on points and finished the night with 83 points, giving him one of the highest totals in the history of NBA scores and pushing him past Kobe Bryant for the second-most points in an NBA game. Bryant famously scored 81 points in his historic performance, widely remembered as the Kobe 81 point game.

The milestone night also added several records to Adebayo’s growing résumé. He became the first Heat NBA player to attempt 40 field goals in a game and set an NBA record with 36 free throws made. His shooting performance also placed him alongside Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in league history to record 20 field goals and 25 free throws in a single game.
