The BCCI, however, is releasing the itinerary in two distinct phases. This staggered rollout is a strategic necessity to navigate the complex logistics of state assembly elections scheduled in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
By coordinating closely with the Election Commission, the board ensures that the high-octane atmosphere of the IPL does not clash with polling security requirements, allowing for a seamless transition as match dates for the second half of the season are finalized in the coming weeks.
What went down in last IPL season
The Lucknow Super Giants enter this new season with a point to prove after a challenging 2025 run.Last year, the franchise finished the league stage in seventh place, a result that felt below their high standards after reaching the playoffs in their first two years of existence.
Despite a formidable campaign from Mitchell Marsh, who finished as the team's leading run-scorer with 627 runs, the squad struggled to find rhythm in the death overs, eventually securing six wins against eight losses.

This mid-table finish sparked a significant tactical recalibration within the management, aiming to recapture the ruthless consistency that defined their early years in the competition.
Determination to bounce back is evident in the powerhouse squad the Super Giants have assembled for 2026.
The franchise has doubled down on its core leadership by retaining captain Rishabh Pant and the explosive Nicholas Pooran, both of whom remain the heartbeat of the batting order.
They are joined by world-class all-rounders Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, alongside the express pace of Mayank Yadav and the reliable Mohsin Khan.
In a sensational trade that has dominated the headlines, LSG also acquired veteran pacer Mohammed Shami to lead the attack. With these superstars fresh off the emotional high of India’s World Cup triumph, Lucknow is poised to bring the "Super" back to the Giants when they take the field this March.
