The YouTube has issued a 'final update' on the recent video outage, confirming that service has been fully restored and all platforms are now operating normally.
"The issue with our recommendations system has been resolved and all of our platforms (YouTube.com, the YouTube app, YouTube Music, Kids, and TV) are back to normal! We really appreciate you bearing with us while we sorted this out," reads a Google support page.
Earlier, the video-streaming platform took to social media to provide an initial update.
"If you’re having trouble accessing YouTube right now, you’re not alone - our teams are looking into this and will follow up here with updates," YouTube posted on X.
"We're also seeing a small number of reports that some people are unable to login to YouTube TV. This is related to the broader issue across YouTube, and we're also working on a fix here," the statement further read.
Earlier, YouTube experienced a major outage in the United States on Tuesday, with more than 300,000 users reporting problems, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector. As of around 7:59 PM ET, Downdetector recorded 240,707 reports, as reported by Reuters, from users facing issues with the popular video-sharing platform. The website monitors service disruptions by collecting real-time status reports from multiple sources.
According to multiple media reports, the outage has also impacted users in Canada, the United Kingdom, and several other countries worldwide. Several users took to social media to report the issue, with some saying the problem also appears to be affecting Google and Amazon Web Services.
