Yeison Jiménez’s nightmare comes true: Colombian music star dies in plane crash after dreaming of it

Colombian regional music sensation Yeison Jiménez reportedly died in a plane crash near Bogotá on Saturday, January 10, eerily fulfilling recurring nightmares he had publicly shared about perishing in an aviation disaster.

The crash occurred in the area between Paipa and Duitama, according to multiple news outlets that cited a statement from Colombia’s Aerocivil. The aircraft, registered as N325FA, carried six occupants—a pilot, co-pilot, and four passengers—en route to Medellín when it went down.



The horrific video of the accident in which Yeison Jiménez dies was also shared by multiple social media accounts.



Media outlet Caracol reported that all aboard, including ‘Yeison Jiménez,’ who was just 34 perished. Jiménez’s press office also confirmed Yeison Jiménez’s death to Billboard Español. In an undated interview, Jiménez revealed haunting dreams of dying in a plane crash and described how things would unravel.


With more than 2.3 million followers on YouTube, he was considered a star on social sites; his most popular video on the platform, 'Aventurero,' garnered more than 354 million views.

Who is Yeison Jiménez?

Yeison Jiménez is a Colombian singer and songwriter and one of the most prominent figures in the Colombian Popular Music genre. Widely regarded as a leading voice in regional Colombian music, he has built a successful career marked by chart-topping releases and a strong national following.

Jiménez began his artistic journey at the age of seven. By 14, he was working at Bogotá’s wholesale market, where he spent five years supporting himself while continuing to pursue music. During that period, he recorded his first five songs, laying the foundation for his professional career.

His first official musical release, “Te Deseo Lo Mejor” (“I Wish You the Best”), was written by Jiménez himself and featured on his debut album, “Con El Corazón – Volumen 1,” released in 2013.
