Rosanna Pansino is a popular YouTube creator, author, and TV host best known for her long-running baking series Nerdy Nummies. With close to 15 million subscribers on YouTube, she has built a family-friendly brand focused on creativity, food, and entertainment, making her one of the most recognizable women on the platform. Pansino has recently spoken out against Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, the world’s most-subscribed YouTuber who has 468 million subscribers, following his involvement in promoting a youth-focused banking app 'Step' aimed at young adults.

This is not the first time Pansino has gone after the famed YouTuber. For more than a year, she has publicly challenged MrBeast over his character and conduct. Her latest criticism is more pointed, as she has raised specific concerns about his ambitions in youth and children’s finance. Her criticism centers on concerns about the influence massive creators have over younger audiences, especially when promoting financial products. According to Pansino, young viewers may not fully understand the long-term implications of banking and financial decisions, making transparency and responsibility essential.

Speaking on The Viall Files, as quoted by International Business Times (IBT), Pansino was blunt in her criticism. She emphasized that MrBeast’s core audience is made up largely of children and questioned his move into financial services. Pansino expressed concern over what she sees as a troubling expansion, remarking that his main audience is 'children', and suggesting that the idea of young fans being offered a MrBeast-branded credit card was alarming rather than exciting.

She went even further on the podcast, saying she believes MrBeast is 'extremely dangerous' and argued that more people should understand who he is off camera. Pansino stressed that while children are heavily drawn to his content, it is parents in particular who should be aware of the level of influence he holds, noting that his massive popularity gives his actions and business moves significant weight.

According to IBT, In October 2024, Pansino reported alleged internal company chat logs to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). She claimed the messages, which she said came from an official MrBeast work Telegram channel, contained material she described as inappropriate - particularly for a company whose content is widely consumed by children.

WHAT IS YOUTH BANKING APP 'STEP'?

Jimmy Donaldson, widely known as MrBeast, entered the fintech space on February 10, 2026, after acquiring the financial services app Step. The move marks a major expansion for Donaldson’s company, Beast Industries, with a clear focus on teenagers and young adults. Designed for younger users, Step offers tools for saving, spending, sending money, and building credit, along with a Step Visa Card. While the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, the deal gives MrBeast access to more than seven million users already on the platform.

According to CNBC, Step is not a bank but partners with Evolve Bank & Trust to provide banking services. The app is backed by major fintech and venture capital players, including Stripe, Coatue, Collaborative Fund, Crosslink Capital, and General Catalyst. The acquisition follows an aggressive fundraising push by Beast Industries, highlighted by a recent $200 million investment from Bitmine Immersion Technologies, chaired by Tom Lee.
