Paige Adams is a former Alabama high school girls basketball coach who has been indicted by a grand jury on 32 alleged sex crime charges including deviant sexual intercourse with a student. The case has drawn significant attention due to the seriousness of the allegations and Adams’ role as a coach in a position of trust. According to CBS 42, Adams, 35, was taken into custody on Tuesday after a grand jury indicted her on more than 30 alleged sex-related charges. The indictment was issued less than a month after she stepped down from Cold Springs High School following a complaint raised with school officials. The case has raised broader concerns about student safety and accountability within school systems.

According to CBS 42, the charges include allegations of 30 counts of distributing obscene material to a student, one count of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under 19, and one count of engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student. Adams stepped down from the coach's position on March 25 after the Cullman County School System received a complaint regarding her.

"This is the first formal complaint I have received regarding this employee," Cullman County Schools Superintendent Shane Barnette said in a statement. As soon as the concern was brought forward, an investigation was immediately initiated. The employee chose to resign at that time."

"This 32-count grand jury indictment speaks for itself," Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker told the media outlet.

Adams, who guided her team to a strong 23–11 record, secured an area title and a place in the AHSAA Final Four. Before that, she had a brief stint at Holly Pond High School, stepping down after just one season in 2017. A 2009 graduate of Cold Springs High School, she was also a player there, contributing to two state championship-winning teams during her time.

In her personal life, her husband, Drew Adams, filed for divorce on April 6 - roughly two weeks before her arrest. According to CBS 42, the couple, married since 2015, share one child, and court filings show he is seeking sole custody. Records also indicate they separated in the same month she resigned from her coaching position. Drew currently serves as the boys basketball coach at Cold Springs.
