Details of the incident
The assault occurred late Friday night (January 23) at the High West Saloon, a venue hosting a private event organized by the talent agency CAA during the Sundance Film Festival. According to police reports and statements from Frost, the suspect, later identified by local police as Christian Young, was not on the guest list and had initially been turned away before gaining access by an alternate entrance.Once inside, the man allegedly made racially charged statements in the restroom, proclaiming pride in being “white,” before confronting Frost and following him out of the facilities. Frost was punched in the face, the Florida Democrat said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), recounting that the attacker told him “Trump was going to deport me” before landing the blow.
Frost reported no serious injuries and thanked security and the Park City Police Department for their response.
Park City officers arrested Young and booked him into Summit County Jail on charges including aggravated burglary and two counts of simple assault, each potentially subject to enhanced sentencing.
