A Florida hospital has fired a labor and delivery nurse after a TikTok video in which she made remarks about White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during childbirth went viral, prompting widespread backlash and raising questions about professional conduct in healthcare.

“As a labor and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth-degree tear,” said Lexie Lawler, a former nurse at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital, in a TikTok video, according to New York Post website.

“I hope you f—-ing rip from bow to stern and never s— normally again, you c—,” she added.

Who is Karoline Leavitt?

Karoline Leavitt is the White House press secretary in President Donald Trump’s second administration, assuming the role in January 2025 at age 27, making her the youngest press secretary in US history. A Republican from New Hampshire, she previously served as an assistant press secretary during Trump’s first term and later as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik and national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 campaign.

Leavitt is known for her aggressive defense of the administration and efforts to broaden media access at the White House. She is married to Nicholas Riccio and has a son born in July 2024, with a daughter due in May.

Patty Abril, Baptist Health’s director of media relations and strategic communications, told Fox News Digital that the hospital no longer employs Lawler.

“The comments made in a social media video by a nurse at one of our facilities do not reflect our values or the standards we expect of healthcare professionals,” Abril added. “Following a prompt review, the individual is no longer employed by our health system.”

Abril said the hospital respects personal opinions but will not tolerate conduct that undermines compassionate, unbiased care. Leavitt announced in December that she is expecting a baby girl in May, with her husband, Nick, joining their son, Niko, born in July 2024.
