Disney cast member injured by boulder prop mid-performance
According to reports by Chip and Co., the incident occurred during the opening temple scene of the long-running stunt show when the iconic rolling boulder prop, estimated to weigh around 400 pounds, became dislodged from its designated track. Instead of following its scripted route, the boulder reportedly rolled toward a section of the audience.

Videos of the incident quickly circulated across social media platforms, showing the moment the prop left the track and began heading toward guests seated nearby.
Disney cast member injured and the cast member stepped in
In the viral footage, a Cast Member can be seen stepping into the path of the rolling boulder in an attempt to stop it from reaching the crowd. While successfully preventing the prop from entering the audience area, the Cast Member appears to misjudge the force of the oncoming boulder and is struck directly, falling forcefully to the ground. Other Cast Members immediately rushed to assist, helping him up slowly.
Disney Confirms Injury, no guests harmed
Chip and Co. cited a statement from Disney confirming the incident and the Cast Member’s condition. The company said the Cast Member received immediate medical attention and that no guests were injured.
“We are incredibly proud of our Cast Member’s quick actions today,” a Disney spokesperson said. “He received immediate care following the incident and is already recovering. We are relieved to report that no guests were injured.”
