Hayden Panettiere, who gained widespread recognition for her performances in 'Heroes' and 'Nashville', died Sunday in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 36. Her death is under investigation, and an official cause has not yet been determined. TMZ reported that a 911 call mentioned a possible overdose and cardiac arrest, while toxicology testing remains pending.
Just days later, PETA released a campaign featuring Panettiere in one of her final advocacy projects. In the video, the actress appears in a bathtub while delivering a message about dolphins and whales kept in marine parks.
The campaign uses the confined space of a bathtub as a visual comparison to the restricted environments faced by marine mammals in captivity. Panettiere asks viewers to consider what it would feel like to spend an entire lifetime in such a limited space.
Panettiere had been a vocal supporter of animal welfare for years, including speaking against dolphin hunting and the captivity of marine animals. PETA said the campaign was among her final projects and released it as a tribute to her commitment to protecting animals.
