No college degree required for Walmart pharmacy roles
In a company press release, Walmart said that these pharmacy roles are open to individuals without even a college degree. Positions such as pharmacy sales associate, pharmacy technician, and pharmacy operations team lead do not require higher education credentials, and the company covers the cost of certification for associates who want to become certified pharmacy technicians.
Since 2016, Walmart said it has helped more than 22,000 associates complete pharmacy technician certification programs.

Employees have welcomed the walmart pharmacy pay increase, citing improved career growth and financial stability. Leisha Gonzalez, a newly promoted pharmacy operations team lead in Callaway, Florida, said she began her Walmart career a decade ago and credited the company for her professional development.
“My hard work has paid off, and I am grateful for the opportunities,” Gonzalez said. “The company has helped me build confidence, develop leadership skills, and better serve our patients.” In addition to higher wages, Walmart pharmacy associates receive benefits including medical coverage, 401(k) plans with a 6% company match, and paid time off, including parental leave.
