After relatives were unable to reach her, Eraslan was found unresponsive in her apartment in Istanbul’s Kağıthane district, according to the Ekovitrin website. Police forced entry into the residence where she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Sun website, authorities have launched an investigation into her death, the circumstances of which have not yet been formally established. At the same time, her body has been sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy to determine the cause.
Eraslan became famous through the television competition İşte Benim Stilim (“This is My Style”), gaining national recognition and eventually building a substantial Instagram following of around 360,000 as a fashion designer and social media personality.
Before her death, Eraslan posted a series of cryptic and emotional messages in the hours before her death, including one that read: “There are things I could not share with you, things you didn’t know, things I never told you. The only thing I know is that I was a very good person. I never wronged anyone.”
In a separate post, she detailed a troubled upbringing, saying she had “never known the love of a mother or a father” and had been “raised with a great deal of violence,” while also making a plea for her dogs to be looked after.
Police said security footage captured Sunay Kurtuluş, a 28-year-old actor, entering the building roughly an hour before her estimated time of death, adding that he told investigators he left after a brief argument that followed what he described as a “playful slap” by Eraslan.
Eraslan built a successful career in fashion, running a designer atelier in Istanbul and preparing collections for various shows, as tributes poured in from fans and followers mourning her sudden death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
