Tatiana Schlossberg
Tatiana Schlossberg, a prominent climate and environmental journalist and the granddaughter of former US President John F. Kennedy, has died at the age of 35 after battling a rare and aggressive form of leukemia, her family announced. Schlossberg, who revealed in a deeply personal essay last November that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia with a rare mutation and given less than a year to live, died surrounded by family, according to a statement shared by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

According to BBC website, her younger brother, Jack Schlossberg, is currently running for a congressional seat in New York.

Networth of Tatiana Schlossberg

According to Marca website, there is no publicly confirmed figure for Schlossberg’s net worth, though industry estimates place it at approximately $2 million to $5 million, based on her journalism career and book sales. Higher online estimates exist but are unverified and considered speculative.

"Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts."

Schlossberg was born to designer and artist Edwin Schlossberg and Caroline Kennedy, a former US diplomat and the daughter of President John F. Kennedy.

According to BBC website, in a New Yorker essay published last month, titled “A Battle With My Blood,” Schlossberg disclosed that she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in May 2024, shortly after giving birth to her second child.

"My first thought was that my kids, whose faces live permanently on the inside of my eyelids, wouldn't remember me," she wrote.

Schlossberg detailed the treatments she underwent, including chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, but said doctors offered little optimism about her prognosis.

She wrote of the pain her death would cause a family marked by tragedy, including the 1963 assassination of her grandfather, President John F. Kennedy, and the 1999 plane crash that killed her uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr.

"For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry," Schlossberg wrote.

Before publicly writing about her illness, Schlossberg built a successful career as a climate journalist, authoring “Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have” and reporting on climate and other issues for The New York Times. In December 2021, she covered efforts to use heat from the London Underground to warm homes as part of initiatives to combat climate change.
