Stripper reveals young troops are ‘depressed’ as they ‘deploy next week’ in viral video, OPSEC concerns follow

A recent viral video by TikTok influencer known as Charm Daze has brought renewed public attention to operational security (OPSEC) concerns within the US military. In a video posted online, San Diego-based dancer and social media personality said that a number of young servicemembers frequently visiting her club near naval and Marine installations had been confiding in her about upcoming deployments, including specific timing.

In her now widely viewed video, Daze describes a pattern she has noticed among young military personnel at clubs:

“Something I’ve noticed lately is all the military guys are coming in and they’re spending all of their money … they’re kind of depressed … they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, we’re gonna have fun,’ but you can tell something’s off. And then they’re like, ‘We deploy next week.’”

She continued, reflecting on the human side of these interactions:

“A lot of them are really kind, and to see these, like, young guys … coming in and then dancing with them, and then being like, ‘bye,’ and then it’s actually, like making me emotional.”
