A bizarre case of bobbitization surfaced in Spain, where a woman allegedly sliced off her partner’s genitals and stabbed him to death. The 55-year-old woman from Latin America was arrested in connection with the death of her 67-year-old partner from the European region on January 30, 2026, in Bilbao, a city in northern Spain, according to a translated media release from the Ertzaintza, the autonomous police force for the area.

The incident occurred in a home in the Uribarri neighborhood of Bilbao. The Ertzaintza (Basque Police) arrived at the residence after receiving a report of a suspected homicide. According to the Basque Department of Security, officers discovered the body of a man inside "with clear signs of having suffered a violent death."

“I’m in shock. We never expected this, and certainly not in the way it happened,” a friend of the couple told the outlet. “When I finished work, I would always have a beer or a moscato on the terrace with them. They talked, they laughed. There has to be something behind this."

She further stated, “No one knows what happens inside people’s homes. They seemed like a normal couple, not toxic at all.” “They seemed like the perfect couple,” another neighbor told the outlet, according to PEOPLE. The couple had been together for five years, and the victim was the owner of a local bar, according to El Diario Vasco.
