The 11-time Olympic medalist shared the update on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 6, posting a photo of her arm covered in hospital wristbands and revealing that she had been hospitalized following a serious medical emergency.
“I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age,” Biles wrote on her Instagram Stories. “But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week.” “This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan [Owens] was in Indy for practices," she continued.
Biles said she has spent the week recovering at home while surrounded by support from family and friends.
“I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers,” Biles continued on her Instagram Stories. “Loooovveeee y'all.”

What happened to Simone Biles?
While Biles did not disclose the exact nature of the incident, she later clarified on X that the scare was health-related.
Responding to a fan who asked in Portuguese whether the incident involved “health, accident, or violence,” Biles replied: “health.”
Alongside the clip, Biles wrote, "Summer nights playing stick it."
In February, she also attended the Milan Winter Olympics, where she comforted American figure skater Ilia Malinin after the heavily favored athlete fell out of medal contention.
