Seattle Shooting: Multiple people shot at Bite of Seattle festival, massive police response underway

Seattle center shooting news: Multiple people were shot during the popular Bite of Seattle festival at Seattle Center on Sunday, prompting a large-scale response from law enforcement and emergency crews. Police rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire, while festivalgoers were urged to leave the area as officers secured the scene. Several victims were transported for medical treatment, though officials have not yet confirmed the total number of injuries or their conditions. Authorities have launched an investigation and are working to determine what led to the shooting. No additional details about possible suspects or arrests were immediately available.


According to KING5 News, several victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, hospital officials confirmed. The FBI has also responded to the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. In the aftermath of the shooting, the Seattle Monorail suspended service for the remainder of Sunday, July 26. Officials said operations are scheduled to resume at 7:30 AM on Monday, July 27.



Seattle Center is hosting three major attractions this weekend: Bite of Seattle, the city's popular free food and beverage festival; Festál, a cultural celebration showcasing diverse communities through music, dance, and traditions; and a sculpture walk, where visitors can explore a collection of public art installations across the campus.

“Police are investigating a shooting. Multiple shooting victims. Shots fired at the Seattle Center. More information to come. Please avoid the area," Seattle Police posted an update on X.


“I heard bang, bang, bang, and I heard yelling, straight yelling,” KING 5 reported an eyewitness account of the shooting.

Bite of Seattle is among Seattle Center's biggest annual events, drawing thousands of visitors of all ages each year.
