Steve Jobs was the cofounder of Apple Computer, Inc. (now Apple Inc.). Born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California, US, Jobs was considered a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer era. He died on October 5, 2011, in Palo Alto, California.

Jobs was raised by adoptive parents in Cupertino, California. It is located in Silicon Valley. He dropped out of Reed College, in Portland, Oregon, and went on to take a job at Atari Corporation as a video game designer in early 1974. He saved money for a pilgrimage to India to experience Buddhism.

In the autumn of 1974, Jobs returned to the Silicon Valley and reconnected with his former high school friend Stephen Wozniak, who was working for the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP).


Besides Apple, Jobs also oversaw Pixar’s rise as a leader in animated movies. He stepped down as Apple’s CEO in August 2011, and just two months later, he passed away at age 56 due to complications from pancreatic cancer.
