Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, daughters of Prince Andrew, banned from Royal Ascot for 'foreseeable future' as parents come under scrutiny for Jeffrey Epstein ties

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will not join the Royal Family for Royal Ascot, as they are not allowed to attend ‘Britain’s most popular race meeting,’ following concerns over their parents' ties to late convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as reported by Daily Mail.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, parents of Beatrice and Eugenie, have come under increased scrutiny after the former prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on February 19, 2026.

Former Prince Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday based on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly forwarding confidential trade documents to Epstein, according to reports.


The two sisters are also not allowed to join senior royals for the Royal Procession. Sources told Daily Mail that the names of Beatrice and Eugenie, who are granddaughters of Queen Elizabeth II, appear multiple times in the Epstein files. The move appears to have 'completely blindsided' the two sisters, who are already rocked from the arrest of their father, Andrew.

What is Royal Ascot?

Royal Ascot is considered one of Britain's most well-known racecourses. It holds a special week of races in June each year called Royal Ascot, attended by the King and Queen, who has had an interest in horses since childhood, according to the official website of the Royal Family.

“This week has become Britain's most popular race meeting, welcoming around 300,000 visitors over five days, all dressed up in their finest clothes and hats,” the website stated.

According to the Daily Mail, the decision to not allow Beatrice and Eugenie to take their seats in the Royal Box at the prestigious horse-racing event is part of a wider decision to exclude the princesses from all public-facing events for the foreseeable future.

The decision came after high-level Palace meetings to decide on the role the sisters should play, as serious questions remain about the extent of their relationship, including financial links with Epstein.

“I've spoken to my friend who works at Ascot, and they said the girls have been told they can't be there this year. Beatrice has taken it the hardest. She's been completely blindsided by all of this, a well-placed source told Daily Mail.

Why attending Royal Ascot impossible for Beatrice and Eugenie this year

Prince William also apparently advised other Royals not to appear in photographs alongside the pair “for the rest of the year." “Ascot would be out of the question because the royals have been told they can't have pictures with the girls for the rest of the year,” another source told Daily Mail.

However, the source added that it would be impossible for the pair to attend because, traditionally, those who are part of the carriage procession stay at Windsor Castle the night before and have dinner with the family. "That's another reason why it's out of the question that the girls will be able to go, unless they are just there as members of the Royal Enclosure," they said.
