The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $133 million for the March 23 drawing, sparking renewed excitement among players across the United States. As of Monday evening, officials had not confirmed any ticket matching all six winning numbers. If no winner is found, the jackpot will roll over and grow even larger for the next draw.

Lottery officials are encouraging players to carefully check their tickets. Even if no one claims the jackpot, several lower-tier prizes are still up for grabs. These rewards can range from smaller cash amounts to multimillion-dollar payouts, depending on how many numbers are matched.

The eventual winner will be able to choose between two payout options. The full $133 million annuity is paid out over 30 years in annual installments that typically increase by about 5 percent. Alternatively, winners can take a lump sum payment, currently estimated at approximately $60.3 million before taxes.

Although the odds of winning the jackpot are steep - about 1 in 292.2 million - the game continues to attract widespread participation. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

This latest rollover comes after a series of major wins. On March 2, a ticket sold in Arkansas hit a $250.8 million jackpot through the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, marking the state’s second-largest Powerball win. The record remains the massive $1.817 billion jackpot awarded in December 2025. Earlier this year, a ticket in North Carolina also claimed an estimated $209 million prize on January 21, highlighting a recent streak of big lottery payouts.
