Despite steep odds - around 1 in 292.2 million - the game continues to draw widespread participation.
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $231 million for the April 6 drawing, sparking renewed excitement among players across the United States. As of Monday night, officials had not confirmed any ticket matching all six numbers. If no winner emerges, the prize will roll over and grow even larger for the next draw.

Lottery authorities are encouraging participants to carefully check their tickets. Even without a jackpot winner, several lower-tier prizes remain up for grabs, offering rewards ranging from modest sums to significant payouts depending on the number of matches.

Winners have two payout choices: a full annuity of $231 million distributed over 30 years in increasing installments, or a lump-sum payment currently estimated at about $105 million before taxes.

Despite steep odds - around 1 in 292.2 million - the game continues to draw widespread participation. Tickets are sold across 45 states, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

The current rollover follows recent big wins, including a $250.8 million jackpot claimed in Arkansas on March 2 and a $209 million prize won in North Carolina earlier this year. The all-time record remains $1.817 billion, set in December 2025.
