Even with the extremely slim odds of winning the grand prize - about 1 in 292.2 million - the lottery continues to attract strong participation.
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $100 million for the April 22 drawing, drawing renewed attention from hopeful players nationwide. As of Wednesday night, no ticket had matched all six numbers, leaving the grand prize unclaimed. If no winner emerges, the jackpot will continue to grow heading into the next draw.

Lottery officials are reminding participants to carefully check their tickets. Even without hitting the jackpot, players can still win across several prize tiers, with rewards ranging from modest amounts to significant payouts based on the number of matches.

Winners have two payment options. The annuity plan offers the full $100 million, distributed over 30 years with annual increases of about 5 percent. The alternative is a one-time cash payout estimated at around $45.6 million before taxes.

Despite steep odds - roughly 1 in 292.2 million - Powerball remains hugely popular. Tickets are available in 45 states, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

Recent jackpots have kept excitement levels high. Earlier this month, a winning ticket in Delaware landed a $231 million prize, while another jackpot worth $250.8 million was claimed in Arkansas in March, adding to the ongoing lottery buzz.
