Officials caution that the odds of winning remain extremely slim at 1 in 292.2 million.
The Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $30 million for the January 26 drawing, sparking nationwide interest. As of Monday night, lottery officials had not confirmed whether any ticket matched all six winning numbers. If no top winner is announced, the jackpot will roll over and grow ahead of the next drawing on Wednesday.

Players are urged to review their tickets, as several secondary prizes - ranging from thousands to millions of dollars - could still be won. The jackpot can be claimed as a 30-year annuity valued at about $30 million, with payments increasing by 5% annually, or as a lump-sum cash option of approximately $13.6 million before taxes.

With odds of winning set at 1 in 292.2 million, jackpots often build rapidly. The current prize follows a reset after a single ticket won the estimated $209 million drawing on Wednesday, January 21. That winning ticket, sold in North Carolina, matched all five white balls and the red Powerball.

In December 2025, an Arkansas man made headlines after winning a record $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot on Christmas Eve, the second-largest lottery win in US history.

How many states have Powerball?

Powerball is available in 45 states, along with Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, making it one of the most widely played lottery games in the United States.
