PENNSYLVANIA'S PTRR PROGRAM LAST DATE
Pennsylvania’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate (PTRR) program will remain open for 2024 benefits until December 31, 2025, giving eligible residents extra time to apply, reported Futbolete. The extension covers refunds that can exceed $1,000 per household and is targeted at seniors, widows and widowers, and people with disabilities who have limited income. Governor Josh Shapiro’s administration announced the move, with the Department of Revenue saying funding is available for all who qualify. According to Futbolete, officials said the extension is meant to help residents who face challenges completing applications. The program is funded through revenue generated by the Pennsylvania Lottery and the state’s gaming industry.

According to Futbolete, the preferred option is online through the myPATH portal, which provides instant confirmation and is available in both English and Spanish. Paper applications are also accepted and can be downloaded from the official website and mailed in. Required documents depend on the applicant’s situation. Homeowners must provide proof of 2024 property tax payments, while renters need a completed PA-1000 RC form from their landlord or a notarized affidavit. All applicants must also submit proof of income, such as a PA-40 tax return or W-2 forms.
