No winner for $856M Powerball Jackpot, but 5 tickets win big as grand prize crosses $900 million

It has now been more than three months since the last Powerball jackpot was won, and the streak continued this Saturday, August 8, 2026, as no ticket matched all the winning numbers. The $856 million grand prize went unclaimed once again, keeping the jackpot rolling over and climbing even higher for the next drawing.

The winning numbers for the latest Powerball draw were 5, 9, 35, 54, and 63, along with the red Powerball number 7 and a Power Play multiplier of 3, combining to form the official winning sequence: 5-9-35-54-63 with Powerball 7 and Power Play 3.

The last Powerball jackpot was claimed on May 2, when two lucky players from Florida and Texas matched all the winning numbers and split a $20 million prize, according to Powerball.

Powerball grand prize climbs higher

With no jackpot winners once again, the Powerball grand prize has now climbed to an estimated $905 million after Saturday night’s drawing produced no match for all numbers. The massive $905 million prize will be up for grabs in the next drawing, scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026.

The $856 million Powerball jackpot now stands as the largest prize of the year and the eighth-biggest in the game’s history, according to Powerball. While no one claimed the grand prize in Saturday’s drawing, there were still notable winners. A ticket sold in Texas matched all five white balls and, with the Power Play option, secured a $2 million prize. Four other tickets, sold in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, and New York, each won $1 million by matching all five white numbers.

“We already had five Powerball jackpots won by tickets in seven states (this year) before this current jackpot run,” a spokesperson for the Multi-State Lottery Association told CNN. “As jackpots continue to rollover without a grand prize winner, player interest grows and contributes to a faster jackpot growth.”

Powerball drawings are held three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. ET, giving players multiple chances to chase the jackpot. Each ticket costs $2, and the game is available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and even the U.K.

To play, participants pick five white numbers from 1 to 69 along with one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. The odds of hitting the jackpot are steep, standing at 1 in 292 million, underscoring just how rare it is to land the life-changing prize.
