Nancy Guthrie Case Update: Was plumber present at her Tucson home a week before kidnapping? YouTuber’s claim emerges amid probe

Amid the ongoing investigation into the Nancy Guthrie case, fresh speculation has emerged after a YouTuber claimed that a plumber was working at her home a week before she disappeared. Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of NBC journalist and Today show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1, and authorities believe she was taken from her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona, the night before.

The investigation into Nancy’s disappearance, led by the Pima County Sheriff's Office in coordination with the FBI, has been ongoing for over six months now, but authorities have not officially named a suspect in the case.

As the Nancy Guthrie case continues to grab eyeballs, several streamers and YouTubers have flocked to Tucson to provide updates. Besides that, several former investigators and FBI agents have also offered theories surrounding her kidnapping, trying to speculate on what might have transpired on the night Nancy vanished.


A streamer going by Mark the Shark, who is covering the Nancy Guthrie case, wrote on X that a source told him a plumber was working at the octogenarian's house a week before she was taken. “SOURCE CLAIM: One of my sources stated that a plumber was reportedly working at Nancy Guthrie’s home about a week before her disappearance. Could this be significant?” streamer Mark the Shark said in a post on X.



This streamer's claim becomes significant as it was earlier reported that the suspect had visited Nancy Guthrie's home before the kidnapping took place. Photos obtained by NewsNation showed the masked suspect on two different days outside Nancy's property.

Notably, there is no official confirmation of any work going on in Nancy Guthrie's home prior to her kidnapping. However, the masked suspect appeared to know their way around the property, since they covered the camera on the night of the kidnapping.

On February 10, the FBI says it managed to recover a doorbell camera video of what it describes as an armed person tampering with a camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door. Video shows the person wearing a backpack and balaclava who tries to cover a camera near the front door with their gloved hand before ripping out a plant from the yard to block the camera’s view.
