Nancy Guthrie Case Update: As the search efforts for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s ‘Today’ show host Savannah Guthrie, near the 100-day mark, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, who is leading the investigation into her suspected abduction, has shared a fresh update on the case’s progress. The task force handling the case is making progress nearly 100 days after she vanished from her home in the Catalina Foothills, Nanos told Fox News Digital on Friday (May 8, 2026).

When asked if investigators are closer to solving the case, Nanos responded, "We are." He nodded, further stating that the developments are "really great" as he got into his white Corvette. He did not elaborate on the matter.





Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31, 2026, and was reported missing by her family on February 1, 2026, after she did not attend church services. When asked whether he has a Mother’s Day message for the Guthrie family, Nanos declined to respond. Mother's Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Within a few days after local police in Arizona launched an investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, later joined by the FBI, investigators suspected an abduction, believing that she had been taken from her home against her will around 2:30 a.m. on February 1, 2026. In April 2026, a private forensic lab in Florida sent a hair sample to the FBI for more advanced analysis.

The mystery surrounding Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance remains unsolved as the investigation nears 100 days. No suspect has been arrested despite rewards exceeding $1 million and hundreds of leads.
