Nancy Guthrie Abduction Case: A flurry of updates has emerged in the case of Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, who has been missing since February 1, 2026. Nancy’s disappearance has been described by authorities as an abduction. The 84-year-old was last seen by family members on January 31, 2026, after spending the evening at the Tucson home of her older daughter, Annie Guthrie, ‌and son-in-law.

It has been nearly six weeks, and extensive search efforts for Nancy continue, with investigators reviewing and analyzing evidence and camera footage. Amid the ongoing investigation, thumbnails from Nancy’s home cameras showed “several people” in the back and side yards of the home over an unspecified period of time, ABC News reported, citing sources. The sources of the American news outlet further stated that the cameras recorded “nothing suspicious,” however. The newly recovered images have not been released to the public.

The additional imagery was apparently recovered by the FBI from cameras at Nancy’s Arizona home. The images were recovered recently from motion-activated cameras trained on the swimming pool, backyard, and side yard, the ABC News sources said. The sources, however, also revealed that the cameras captured nothing on the night of the abduction, and so far investigators have not drawn any conclusions as to why, but one source described it as "odd."

On February 1, 2026, a doorbell video camera at the front door to Nancy Guthrie's Tucson house captured footage of a man wearing a ski mask, backpack, gloves, and holstered gun tampering with the camera in the early morning.

No further footage or images from Nancy’s home have been recovered from the night of her alleged abduction. The update regarding images surfaced hours after Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos believed Guthrie was targeted. However, they had not released any motives or identified any suspects at the time of filing of this report. Nancy was reported missing on Feb. 1, 2026.
