Nancy, an 84‑year‑old Tucson resident and mother of NBC journalist Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her home in Catalina Foothills on January 31, 2026. She was reported missing by her family the following day, sparking an intense investigation, with authorities suspecting she may have been taken from her home against her will.

Despite extensive coverage across multiple television networks and daily updates, investigators have yet to announce a major breakthrough, leaving the public anxiously awaiting answers. However, amid the widespread coverage, a clip shared on social media platform X by NERDY Investigates, a well‑known true‑crime commentator, drew backlash. The video showed a man “moonwalking” in front of Nancy’s Tucson home. Outraged by the stunt, the digital creator condemned the behaviour.


“This is disgraceful. A complete mockery and circus unfolding in front of Nancy Guthrie’s home that serves no legitimate purpose whatsoever. Moonwalking and turning a missing person case, into a spectacle for attention is beyond disturbing. Families deserve dignity and respect, not a sideshow outside their front door while the internet treats trauma like entertainment. For shame,” he wrote.
