Nancy Guthrie Case Update: A fresh update has emerged in the Nancy Guthrie case after TMZ received yet another email from the person claiming to know the identities of Nancy’s kidnappers, who now says he has video of the “main guy” and Nancy on the day she died. The outlet has confirmed that the new email is from the same person who sent us the previous ones. The sender cited a previously known Bitcoin address that matched earlier communications, and the alias used in the message also aligned with prior emails. The email has since been handed over to the FBI for further investigation.

He appeared dismissive of TMZ’s report and apparently brushed aside claims that the FBI believes the email may have been written by a woman. Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of NBC journalist and “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared in the early hours on January 31, 2026 and was later reported missing by her family members.

"I am not the idiot who recently called in a tip about her burial site in Mexico," he further stated. Reiterating his previous claim of more than one kidnapper. He stated that there are two kidnappers who allegedly took her from her Tucson home in Arizona “against her will”.

The sender further claimed to possess a phone that, according to him, contains video footage of the “main guy” alongside Nancy Guthrie. "I have a phone stashed in a secure location guaranteeing both the information it stores and the safety of the phone," he said.

"What it contains is my definition of delivering them on a silver platter, a short video of the main guy with Nancy, the day that was probably her last, pictures of both involved, names and addresses and age," he added. He claims the phone is in a "location easy to access if you know where it is." He also claimed he would hand over the password in exchange for one Bitcoin and provided a new Bitcoin address for the transaction.

The search for Nancy Guthrie has been going on for nearly five months now, and besides the doorbell camera footage and the ransom notes, investigators have not been able to gather any concrete evidence to name or arrest any suspects in the case, despite hundreds of leads and reward offers.
