US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US pilot who went missing in Iran after the downing of his F-15E fighter jet has been rescued and is “now safe and sound." Trump said in a truth social post that the pilot rescue operation involved multiple aircraft and close monitoring of the airman’s location.


In the post, Trump claimed the mission followed another successful rescue of a US pilot the previous day. According to his statement, officials did not confirm the earlier operation publicly to avoid jeopardizing the second rescue.
