Minecraft's latest game drop, Chaos Cubed, has arrived for Bedrock Edition, bringing one of the game's most experimental updates in recent years. Rather than focusing on a single new creature or biome, the update introduces an interconnected set of features designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and discovery. From a new underground biome and environmental hazards to a mob that changes based on what it eats, Chaos Cubed expands the possibilities of Minecraft's sandbox world.

Sulfur Caves bring a new underground experience

The centerpiece of the update is the introduction of Sulfur Caves, a new cave biome hidden beneath Sulfur Springs in the Overworld. Players can locate these areas on the surface through distinctive Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks as well as sulfur gas emissions.

Underground, the caves feature shallow pools of water, glow lichen, Sulfur Spikes, and the newly added Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks. The biome's striking yellow and red color palette gives it a unique appearance compared to traditional cave systems and offers players a fresh environment to explore.

Meet the Sulfur Cube

Chaos Cubed's most unusual addition is the Sulfur Cube, a new mob found inside Sulfur Caves.

Unlike most Minecraft creatures, Sulfur Cubes react to the blocks they consume. Different blocks can alter the mob's behavior, encouraging players to experiment and discover new interactions.

The update also introduces the Bucket of Sulfur Cube, making it possible to transport the mob and use it outside its natural habitat.

Potent Sulfur and geysers add new mechanics

Another major addition is Potent Sulfur, a block that creates bubbling water effects, bubble columns, and sulfur gas clouds when submerged. These gases can affect nearby players and mobs, introducing new environmental hazards to survival gameplay.

Potent Sulfur also works with Magma Blocks to generate Geysers, which launch players and entities into the air. This mechanic creates new opportunities for vertical transportation, adventure maps, and creative building projects.

New blocks for builders

Builders receive a substantial boost through the addition of Sulfur and Cinnabar building sets. These materials come with multiple decorative variants, allowing players to incorporate vibrant yellow and deep red tones into their structures.

Combined with Sulfur Spikes and the unique visual identity of the new biome, the blocks offer fresh possibilities for creating underground bases, fantasy builds, industrial designs, and custom landscapes.

A game drop built around experimentation

What sets Chaos Cubed apart is its emphasis on discovery. The Sulfur Cube's evolving behavior, the hazards created by Potent Sulfur, the mobility offered by geysers, and the new cave biome all encourage players to test ideas and interact with the world in unexpected ways.

Rather than simply adding more content, Chaos Cubed introduces systems that reward curiosity. For players who enjoy exploring, building, and experimenting, the update offers an entirely new set of tools and challenges within Minecraft's ever-expanding sandbox.
