If there is no jackpot winner, the prize will roll over and increase for the next drawing on Tuesday, February 10.

The eventual winner will have two payout choices. One option is a 30-year annuity valued at approximately $346 million, with annual payments increasing by 5 percent each year. The other is a lump-sum cash payout estimated at $156.1 million before taxes.

Despite the buzz surrounding the soaring jackpot, lottery officials continue to remind players that the odds of winning the Mega Millions grand prize are extremely slim - about 1 in 290 million. The jackpot was last claimed on December 2, when a player in New Jersey won $90 million.


Mega Millions tickets are available in 45 states, as well as Washington, DC, and the US Virgin Islands. The game is not offered in Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.
