Cincinnati Mass Shooting: Horrific scenes unfolded at a music event in Cincinnati, Ohio, where at least nine people sustained injuries in a mass shooting on Sunday morning (March 1, 2026). The incident occurred at around 1 AM local time at music venue Riverfront Live, according to FOX 19 Cincinnati.

Police launched an investigation into the matter after they were notified of “multiple shots fired” at 4343 Kellogg Avenue, where the music venue Riverfront Live is located, the news outlet reported.

A birthday celebration was taking place at the venue when the terrifying incident occurred, PEOPLE reported, citing an Instagram post from DJ Fresh. The event was scheduled to start at 10 PM on February 28, 2026 (Saturday).

Witness says altercation took place before shooting

An altercation took place at the venue before the shooting, and a person on the floor was involved in an argument with four to five people before that person was “knocked unconscious," FOX 19 reported, citing a witness who asked for anonymity.

The witness stated that a few minutes following that incident, he saw “three dudes come from the back and shoot the club up and run out the way they came in,” according to the news outlet. It is, however, pertinent to mention that police have not confirmed whether the shooting was linked to that altercation or to the party at Riverfront Live.

Shooting victims are stable

Among the nine people wounded in the shooting, one was initially reported to be in critical condition, according to FOX 19. The victims were transported to either UC Medical Center or Good Samaritan Hospital, ABC affiliate WCPO reported, citing Cincinnati Police Interim Chief Adam Hennie. The news outlet also later confirmed that all nine victims had non-life-threatening injuries and were in stable condition.

During the investigation, police confirmed that the incident was isolated and there was no ongoing threat to the public, FOX 19 reported. No suspect description was released. The victims were not publicly identified at the time this report was filed.

The website of the party venue states that Riverfront Live is a music venue that hosts concerts and events and has an age restriction of 16 and over.
