Lil Durk acquitted of all charges in murder-for-hire trial linked to 2022 shooting that killed Quando Rondo’s cousin

Rapper Durk Banks, professionally known as Lil Durk, was found not guilty on all federal charges stemming from a 2022 ambush shooting near the Beverly Center. After three days of deliberation, a Los Angeles jury delivered its verdict on Friday, September 11, 2026. Prosecutors told the jury of seven women and five men that Lil Durk, a Grammy winner for his hit song "All My Life", plotted to stalk and kill Tyquian Bowman, an Atlanta rapper known as Quando Rondo, according to 6abc.

According to The Rolling Stone, his co-defendants Deandre Wilson and David Lindsey were convicted of conspiracy to commit stalking, stalking, and stalking resulting in death.

Federal prosecutors claimed that Banks planned, organized, ordered, and bankrolled the intended murder of Bowman. They further alleged that the plot was carried out to avenge the 2020 killing of Banks' close friend, Dayvon "King Von" Bennett, who was shot by an associate of Bowman. According to prosecutors, the scheme mistakenly led to the death of Bowman's cousin, 24-year-old Saviay'a Robinson, who was shot in broad daylight on August 19, 2022.


Banks, 33, pleaded not guilty through his defense team. In opening statements, his team argued that he had no involvement in the alleged scheme. His attorneys argued that his former personal assistant, Kavon Grant, was actually the one who set up the intended killing.

A total of three defendants, including Banks, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy, stalking using a dangerous weapon, stalking resulting in death, and two counts involving murder-for-hire allegations, ABC6 reported.

Banks' co-defendants, Deandre Dontrell Wilson and David Brian Lindsey, were convicted of stalking and conspiracy to commit stalking charges, but acquitted of other counts. Banks was found not guilty on all charges. If convicted, Banks could have faced a life sentence in federal prison.

Durk has been found not-guilty, but despite the verdict he will continue to remain in custody pending a second trial on a racketeering count that was severed from the initial trial. That trial is scheduled to begin on October 5, 2026.
