Nancy Guthrie Update: A massive update has emerged in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance case where a group in Mexico called “Buscando Corazones Nogales” suggesting that they received an anonymous tip on Wednesday (June 10, 2026) that Guthrie was buried in an unmarked grave near the Mexico-Arizona border.

As the reports regarding the anonymous tip began circulating online, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, which has been carrying out the investigation in the case in coordination with the FBI, responded to the reports, said it had not been approached by Mexican authorities.

“We are aware of reports regarding an anonymous tip related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation that was provided to a group in Mexico. At this time, we have not been contacted by Mexican authorities,” the statement began. “The investigation remains active and ongoing, and we will continue to follow up on any credible information.”

What did Mexican search group say about Nancy Guthrie’s alleged grave?

According to newspaper El Imparcial, the leader of the Nogales collective, which is dedicated to locating missing persons and uncovering clandestine graves, claimed that they received an anonymous call informing them that the 84-year-old woman had been buried in one of the streams in the area known as Mariposa , which is located west of Nogales and near the border strip with Arizona.

“We received an anonymous call telling us that the woman’s remains were in the Mariposa area in a grave over a stream, and this time we came to explore this stream that we failed to explore in the first intervention,” Ayala Ortiz was quoted as saying by the Spanish newspaper loosely translated to English.




Search teams combed the Mariposa area, located west of Nogales near the Arizona border, after receiving information that Nancy Guthrie had been buried there. However, the operation did not yield any results.

According to the group's leader, investigators had previously conducted a search in the same region, including nearby streams, but the grave has yet to be located despite several leads provided by an anonymous source. Ayala Ortiz said search efforts in the area will continue as volunteers work to locate Nancy’s remains as well as other missing individuals.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC journalist Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1, 2026 and authorities believe that she was abducted against her will from her Arizona home during the early morning hours. Investigators recovered images of an armed, masked individual from a doorbell camera at the residence.

However, no suspects have been publicly identified, and Guthrie remains missing. Despite multiple rewards, ransom notes, and hundreds of clues, no suspect has been identified or arrested in the case so far.

Officials in Arizona have acknowledged that the investigation has seen no major developments or breakthroughs in recent weeks. Meanwhile, physical evidence, including DNA, continues to undergo forensic examination. Earlier, FBI Director Kash Patel told NewsNation that 150 agents are assigned to the investigation.
