How did the issue surface?
The problem came to light in March after a customer reported “inoperable brakes” on a 2025 FXLRST model. An investigation identified three additional reports involving brake fluid loss or rear brake failure.
Despite the defect, no injuries have been reported so far.
What owners should do?
The fix will involve replacing the BCM caddy and related hardware across all affected motorcycles.
Dealers will also inspect the rear brake line and replace it if damaged. The updated design repositions the BCM to create more space from the brake line.
Owners can check if their bike is affected by entering their VIN on the NHTSA website before receiving official communication.
