‘Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee’ remastered launches November 3 as Atari revives beloved kaiju fighting classic
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is officially announced by Atari, set for a November 3, 2026 release. This high-fidelity recreation, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, will feature enhanced graphics, improved gameplay, online and local mu...

The announcement was revealed during the Summer Game Fest period and follows months of speculation among fans.
Originally released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002 and later expanded for Xbox in 2003, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee placed players in control of legendary monsters including Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mechagodzilla, allowing them to battle across cities while leveling buildings and engaging in large-scale destruction.
Although Atari is calling the project a remaster, reports indicate that the game has effectively been rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5, resulting in significant visual and technical improvements over the original release. Atari describes the project as a "high-fidelity" recreation of the 2002 title rather than a simple graphical upgrade.
According to details released by Atari and Pipeworks, the remaster will feature:
- Enhanced graphics and visual effects
- Improved gameplay systems
- Online multiplayer support
- Local multiplayer modes
- Refined progression and unlock mechanics
- Modern platform optimization
The game retains its signature focus on arena-based monster combat across large destructible environments. Battles will once again take place in major cities, Monster Island, and other recognizable locations inspired by the Godzilla universe.
Environmental destruction remains a core feature. Players can smash buildings, throw structures at opponents, and use the surroundings as weapons while engaging in large-scale kaiju warfare.
