According to investigators, Layla was last seen around 1 a.m. Thursday at a residence on James Drive in Baxley. Authorities believe she was with Giavannie Alexis Carter at the time, traveling in a gray Jeep Renegade bearing Georgia license plate SLU9322.
According to the GBI, “Layla has blonde braided hair and was wearing pajama bottoms and a t-shirt. Carter has black braided hair and was wearing a gray/white tank top and black shorts and a black baseball cap with blue trim. Direction of travel is unknown. Layla is believed to be in extreme danger.”
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has shared a description of both individuals. Layla is 13, stands about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs close to 100 pounds, and has brown eyes. Carter, 32, is reported to be the same height with a weight of roughly 140 pounds, PEOPLE reported, citing the organization.
